Choosing a Custom Surfboard

Choosing a custom surfboard is an important step in your surfing development.
The correct choice of a custom surfboard will go a long way towards assisting your future surfing ability. But you need to get it right.
The wrong decision can really damage your future as a surfer. If the custom surfboard you choose is wrong for you, it will only hamper you, holding back your surfing to a point where the frustration takes over from the fun. In the end you confidence becomes so shattered youfll loose faith in your ability to surf.

So how do I know what I should be looking for when choosing a custom surfboard?

To a large extent just be practical about your surfing ability and use common sense. Before choosing your custom surfboard, determine in your own mind what you think you need your surfboard to do. Then source out a manufacturer with a reputable name that builds custom surfboards similar to what you think you will need. Contact your choice of manufacturer directly, asking to talk to the shaper of your board. Then discuss the surfboard you have chosen in detail with your shaper. When you are both happy that the shaper has a good idea of what you want, place your order.

If upon completion, the custom surfboard is not what you ordered? Then you have the right to say, gNo, it is not what we talked about, I do not want the boardh If youfve chosen the right manufacturer? Then your surfboard should be exactly what you wanted, and everyonefs happy.

If you choose correctly your new custom surfboard should work well with the way you surf, complementing your style and in general assisting you to grow as a surfer.
Custom surfboards, when chosen correctly, are by far the best way to go.
If possible develop an on going relationship with your shaper, once you develop a rapport, each future custom surfboard you choose will improve along with your growing ability as a surfer.
