McCoy Surfboards

McCoy Surfboards started production on the 11th August 1970 in Brookvale, Sydney, which at the time was the centre of the Australian surfboard industry.

McCoyfs surfboards quickly became the surfboard that everyone wanted to ride. Even at that early stage, surfers believed as they do to this day. That McCoy Surfboards just function better than most other designs, over a wider range of wave sizes and conditions.

Geoff McCoy who designs all McCoy Surfboards has always taken a simple and practical approach to all his designs. McCoy believes that surfing is in itself quite difficult to perform, so his design theories evolve around making the board as neutral on a wave as possible. Hence the thicker McCoy surfboards with full soft forgiving rails, gentle smooth bottom contours for flow, full balanced plan shapes for stability on the wave. The subtle features found in a McCoy surfboard, ensure a board that is very user friendly in practice. This is regardless of the surferfs ability, from learner to professional level.

The current design belief, for surfboards builders today, is to make the highest reacting surfboard they can. And then try to find a surfer who can actually ride the board in a practical manner with consistent and predictable results. This may work for an elite few, but for the rest it equals frustration and madness. This design belief simply does not work for the vast majority of surfers.

McCoy designed and built surfboards hold an elite reputation in the surfing industry for excellence in practical performance and product durability.

If you decide to purchase a McCoy surfboard, you will know that you have spent your money well.

McCoy Surfboards are very difficult to get second hand from Shops, this is because of their reputation, surfers tend to buy McCoyfs direct from each other.

No other surfboard label enjoys higher praise than McCoy surfboards.
